A couple of weeks ago I shared what’s in my Summer 2026 Capsule Wardrobe in my closet here on the blog. My own capsule wardrobe is a combination of pieces from the Hot Climate Spring/Summer 2026 Capsule Wardrobe and the Minimal Chic Summer 2026 Capsule Wardrobe, plus a few other pieces I already had in my closet.
My life update: Thank you to everyone who have sent messages and emails while I’m going through my divorce. I was both shocked and blindsided by how everything happened. What I thought was my soulmate (as he initially told me in the beginning and I knew it too), has had me questioning the past few years we have been married. For a few weeks, I have experienced all kinds of emotions, sadness, depression, anger, disbelief and also including panic attacks and anxiety. Looking back, I know now I lost myself in our marriage and I sacrificed so much along the way. I believe us as women give ourselves so much to those we love around us! I am slowly learning to live life for me now (and my two cats). I have a few close friends that have been a blessing throughout it all. Last week I joined a gym that I used to go to several years ago and enjoy going to church and Bible study. Exercising everyday has made a HUGE difference in the way my body feels and it keeps me focused. So far, I have lost 12 pounds and I no longer have swelling from a buildup of cortisol (from coping with stress this past year) in my body. I have a goal to get in shape and to work on building muscle so that I’m toned. This will help as I age and hopefully keep myself healthy both inside and out.
For size reference: My height is 5’9″ and my weight is approximately 185 lbs. I have an hourglass figure and am mid-size. For tops, I typically wear a size Large (12), depending on the brand and fit of the top. For bottoms, my usual size is a 12, waist 31; a 10-inch high rise fits my waist the best and a 28 inch inseam falls at my ankle, 30 inch inseam is full-length on me. My shoe size is 9 medium or 40EU.
I wore this outfit to eat lunch with my best friend and running some errands in town. This Striped Linen-Blend Button-Front Shell in “White Bright Grotto” (wearing a size Large) is so cool and airy and I love the vertical blue stripes. It is a linen/cotton mix so it keeps me cool in the hot and humid summer days! And, this top comes in several other colors!

I’ve had these 9″ Frankie Bermuda Chino Short in the “Dusty Red” color for years, so I just had to get the “White” color (wearing a size 12)! The fabric is mostly cotton with just a bit of elastane for some stretch. I highly recommend these shorts, plus they come in many other colors!
These Dolce Vita Strappy Sandals in “saddle leather” are very comfy. I can easily walk all day in these shoes! They fit true to size; I’m wearing a size 9.
Let’s talk about the accessories I’m wearing! First, is this Straw Top Handle Crossbody Bag. This bag is an Amazon find and it looks more expensive than the $26.99 price! It’s a very durable bag that you can wear multiple ways: as a shoulder bag, crossbody style or remove the strap and carry it as a small tote!
The jewelry I’m wearing is this Seabrook Bracelet and Gold Link Hoop Earrings. You may recognize the Seabrook Bracelet from this post, “3 Summer Dresses With Natural Fabrics I Added To My Closet.” I have worn both the Seaside Treasures Necklace and Seabrook Bracelet so much lately! My sunnies are these Daphne Tortoiseshell Sunglasses which have 100% UVA/UVB Protection and the brown tortoise color will coordinate with all your outfits! Cute outfit. Just scored a cute blue linen vest to wear with some floral linen pants. But I do have a short white skirt that the linen vest would par with very nicely. And…..I got a darling little purse with camel and beige at Target. You always inspire my outfits. You are looking good, too, but then as always, you are a “Classy Lady”.

You look fantastic and are doing all the right things to move forward. I went through a divorce at a young age with a small child. While I struggled financially and emotionally the payoff at the end was worth it as I married a wonderful man 30 years ago and got two bonus children in the bargain.
I’ve been praying for you and for your strength and peace and will continue to do so.
I am happy your doing well, my daughter who has 2 cats just moved back in with us, her longtime boyfriend cheated on her, your attitude of self care is so important , I am advising her to focus on her. I love your classic taste. Hang in their lady your doing great!

I just want to add my best wishes as you are going through this difficult time. A short time ago you mentioned that a few years ago you had a child pass away. I also had a child pass away. One of the things I was taught during that difficult time is that the loss of a child can be very hard on a marriage. All the positive things you are doing will help you get through this.
Blue and caramel sounds like an interesting combo for summer. How do you decide which pieces make the cut for your capsule wardrobe?
When I am creating my capsule wardrobe, I will decide which accent colors to include first. I pick a few pieces in those accent colors. Then, I build my capsule around those colors with neutrals.
I’m glad you are still posting. My whole wardrobe is built on your capsules as inspiration. You have a lot of support even if we are not physically with you. Stay strong and trust in the Lord.
