I put together my summer capsule wardrobe and just in time, because this week the humidity has arrived! Here in Alabama, our Summers are HOT and HUMID, averaging in the 90’s during the day. During the Summer, I like to wear mostly linen and cotton fabrics, a lot of sleeveless tops, bottoms that are cool and airy and sandals.
Since our summers are long where I live, I have 32 pieces in my capsule, which includes tops, bottoms and shoes, in mostly neutral colors with minimalist styles. My capsule wardrobe is based on a combination of the Minimal Chic Summer 2026 Capsule Wardrobe and the Hot Climate Summer 2026 Capsule Wardrobe. I took pieces from both capsules and customized it based on my work at home, casual lifestyle.
For those of you that follow the Fashion Elo blog, you know that I have been using a capsule wardrobe in my closet for several years and am transparent about the outfits I wear. I absolutely love using a capsule wardrobe every season, as it helps me get dressed quickly and easily everyday. A capsule wardrobe is a small set of clothes and shoes, which all mix and match, so you can have dozens of outfit combinations ready to wear. Using a capsule wardrobe lets you focus on more important things in your life and takes the stress away from getting dressed.

My Personal Style & Lifestyle
My full-time job is working at home creating capsule wardrobes and content on Fashion Elo blog and social media. Since I work at home, I like to wear casual styles that I can easily move around in and are comfortable while working at my desk. I live in a rural, casual, river town in Alabama, so easy, casual styles are popular here.
My Color Palette
For this Summer 2026 season, I chose Black as the base color for my capsule wardrobe. I chose black as my own personal preference, so if you are referencing this post to create your capsule wardrobe for the season, feel free to use your favorite neutral base color (other base colors can be navy, gray, brown, etc). I added a few pieces in blue and green as accent colors.
The capsule wardrobes I share from my own closet every season are clothes that I have in my own closet and is my personal style. Everyone has their own personal style as well as color preference in clothes and may be based on the weather where you live, so your wardrobe may be different from mine. Minimalist Style
My favorite styles are ones that are classic, simple and minimal. I prefer to wear mostly solid, neutral colors and rarely wear patterns. I do enjoy wearing stripes!
Since my favorite colors are mostly neutrals, blue and green, I chose those colors primarily for my color palette!

I love this and I have a love hate with Quince. Case in point their linen shell is too tight in bust and too tight at hip, maybe I should try X-Large but worry the arm holes will be too big. I am about your size but 5’8” 175 36DD. So do you wear a large I. These? I keep trying to do a capsule but get side traced and don’t see how my other items fit in. So many “mistakes” and nothing goes together. I too live in hotter the heck south, North Carolina coastal. I like wearing dresses too. But then sleeveless I worry about my arms. I need to get over that. Anyway this is a great set for me. Also I was trying to get away from black but I do have black shoes, belt and handbag, just no tops.i do have a dark navy sleeveless dress. Quince’s regular linen shell is more of a straight fit and tends to run a bit small. I like the Cropped Linen Shell as it is just about an inch shorter, but a wider fit. I wear a size Large in all their tops.
