So many of my readers enjoy shopping Talbots for modern classic styles and I do too. I was needing a few pieces to add to my summer wardrobe, so I went online to Talbots to check out what they have. I immediately found the style of top and shorts I was looking for and couldn’t click “add to bag” fast enough! In this post, I’m sharing what I ordered and what I got, plus showing you how I styled it.

Talbots is also having their Semi-Annual Red Door Sale in stores and online! Let me tell you, there are lots of items that I want from this sale! During the Talbots Semi-Annual Red Door Sale event you will find so many great spring and summer styles marked down significantly. This is a great time to give your summer closet a refresh! I like to look for both classic and trending pieces to add to my wardrobe. You can shop the Talbots Red Door Sale at your local Talbots or online from the convenience of your home. The Talbots site is so easy to navigate and the checkout process is quick and seamless.

Here is everything I ordered:

For size reference: My height is 5’9″ and my weight is approximately 175 lbs. I have an hourglass figure and am mid-size. For tops, I typically wear a size Large (12), depending on the brand and fit of the top. For bottoms, my usual size is a 12, waist 31; a 10-inch high rise fits my waist the best and a 28 inch inseam falls at my ankle, 30 inch inseam is full-length on me. My shoe size is 9 medium or 40EU.

SHOP THE POST:

I love the style of this Square Neck Tank in “Black” (size Large). It has extended shoulder seams, so it provides a bit more coverage than your average tank! The fabric is a cotton/modal/spandex blend, so it is breathable and stretchy, making it the perfect sleeveless top to wear with practically anything in your closet. This square neck tank looks sophisticated and chic, giving your outfits an elevated look. I absolutely LOVE these Stretch Linen Utility Shorts in “White” (size 12)! They have some stretch to them, thanks to the spandex in the fabric so they hold their shape. They are a cotton/linen blend, so the fabric is breathable and is soft to the touch. You need these Ilyssa Links Nappa Espadrille Slides in “Black” in your summer wardrobe! They are SO COMFORTABLE! These sandals fit true to size and I’m wearing my usual size 9. I also want them in the “havanna tan” color, which in my opinion is the perfect tan color. This Corn Husk Cut Out Handle Tote caught my eye online and I just had to have in my summer wardrobe! It is a mini tote, shoulder carry and crossbody bag all in one! It has an interior zip and slip pocket, a magnetic closure and is lined. The quality of workmanship on this bag is beautiful and is made of 100% corn husk. You are sure to get compliments on this bag! I’m loving these Daphne Sunglasses in “Black” with the oval shaped frames and dark-tinted lenses, perfect for the bright and sunny summer days.

  1. The items look great!

Once you have the basic wardrobe, how many items do you add/replace per season? Still struggling to keep to keep to 25 items per season. And the number of shoes I have is at capacity for the space available, if I keep my golf shoes with my golf equipment.

  2. Rosann,

Thank you! How many items you add depends on if you want to add trending items per season. If you enjoy primarily wearing your core closet essentials, I recommend replacing items that are worn, faded, tearing or no longer fit correctly. I rarely have to replace items since I was my clothes in cold water, hang them to dry and iron/steam as necessary. I avoid pleating my clothes in the dryer since the dryer breaks down the fibers in the material and causes fading. Have a wonderful day! 😀❤️
